OKLAHOMA 12th JULY

Friends of the Conservatorium of Music & Film and Arts Mackay present the movie musical OKLAHOMA this Sunday afternoon (July 12th) in the Conservatorium Theatre.

Before the film Con students and staff will present a program of popular songs.

And after the film you're invited to a western style supper.. cowboy sasuages and apple pie.

The afternoon starts at 3pm in the Conservatorium Theatre at CQUniversity, Boundary Road Planlands.

The cost which includes the show and supper: Adults $15.00 , Concession $12.00 , Friends of Con and Library Society $10.00.

KUCOM THEATRE 25th JULY

Kucom Theatre's next production, Noel Coward's comedy FALLEN ANGELS, opens in their Shakespeare Street Theatre this Friday Night July 10th.

The "Fallen Angels" are best friends... two middle-aged women who had an affair with the same Frenchman before they were married.. a Frenchman who's just send them postcards saying he's coming London.

While their husbands are away playing golf, the ladies work themselves up into a state of excitment, thanks to lots of champaign, in anticipation of their old lover's return.

So what happens when he finally arrives?

TAI CHI 16/07

Queensland Keep Fit Assoc. Inc. is offering more Tai Chi classes for men and women
at the Pioneer War Memorial Hall (St. Andrews Uniting Church), Walkerston

An Introductory Course of 4 classes will commence on Friday, 17th July from 10 am - 11.30 a.m. and will continue 24th, 31st July and 7th August.

Participants should arrive at 9.30 a.m. to register as a health screen form needs to be completed.

Accredited and Registered Tai Chi Instructor, Beverley Murphy, plans to continue classes through school terms for adults who have completed the beginners' course.

Community Radio 4CRM will be hosting a GREAT Trivia night on Friday 7 August as a Fund-raiser for the Station.

It will be held in the Senior Citizens Hall in Macallister Street and will start at 7:00pm.

You are invited to get a Team of 6-8 people to participate so get your Team together and give us a call on 4953 1411 to book a table.

This will be a major Fund-raiser for 4CRM so we are asking for your support as well as giving you a night of fun with a Brain-teasing Trivia Quiz and other games carrying GREAT prizes.

Mackay North Lions Club 10/7

Mackay North Lions Club is holding a Singles Mingles Dance Night in the Skys Function Room at the Magpies Sporting complex on Friday 10th July, starting at 8p.m.

There will nibbles and drink on arrival, and live music and local bands to entertain.

HIGH No 1 BRIDAL PARADE 15th AUGUST

Highway Number One Country Music Association is holding a Bridal Fashion Parade and Cent Sale afternoon from 2pm on Saturday the 15th August in the Bakers Creek Community Hall.

The oldest wedding gown modelled will receive a prize.

There's also a luck door prize and afternoon tea will be served.

Mackay Base Hospital Volunteers are holding their three day Book Sale on the 15th, 16th and 17th of July.

A large variety of books will be available at the sale which starts at 7am each day.

Money raised goes to purchase hospital equipment.

Donations of books will be greatfully accepted.

A Country Music Fundraiser is being held at the Northern Beaches Bowls Club on Sunday 19th July from 11am to 3pm, to assist World BMX Champion Melinda McLeod attend the World Titles in Adelaide.

RED CROSS BLOOD SERVICE 08/07

With State of Origin fever sweeping NSW and QLD footy fans, the Red Cross Blood Service is hoping for a bloody battle off the football field.

It is calling on all Queenslanders to show patriotism and “donate blood for their state” during this year’s State of Origin clash.

With a battle brewing between QLD and NSW blood donors, the blood service is heating up the competition with a double pass package to the sold out series final in Brisbane on the 15th of July.

You only need to present to donate before the 8th of July will go into the draw.
